After an interview session at the State Prosecutor’s Office regarding allegations of intimidation against journalist Lirim Mehmetaj, Gani Geci has been released from detention, reports “Bota sot”.
The case concerns a post that Mehmetaj had made on Facebook about MP Fatos Geci.
Based on information from the Prosecutor’s Office, Gani Geci is considered a suspect for allegedly addressing the journalist with threats, pressuring him to remove or modify that post.
On the other hand, the Geci family has announced that on October 20, 2026, while he was at Peja Prison, Gani Geci experienced a health crisis, as his blood pressure suffered a significant drop.
