Ministry of Defense: Only two Albanians applied to the Military Academy, one withdrew and the other ranked 43rd

The Ministry of Defense responded to the DUI’s criticism over the absence of Albanian candidates admitted to the Military Academy this year, saying the reason was the small number of applicants.

According to the institution, only two Albanian candidates took part in the competition. One withdrew from the race, while the other ranked 43rd.

The reaction came after the DUI raised concerns that the Military Academy had not admitted a single Albanian cadet for the first time since 1995.

The DUI described this as a violation of the principle of fair and adequate representation of Albanians in state institutions, while criticizing the government and representatives of the VLEN coalition.

The clash between the parties has once again brought attention to the debate over the representation of Albanians in security and defense institutions, as well as the implementation of the principles of the Ohrid Agreement.
