Albania today formalized its participation in the International Stabilization Force (ISF) in Gaza by signing an agreement with the Board of Peace. The signing took place at the headquarters of the General Staff of the Albanian Armed Forces.

Albania’s Ministry of Defense announced that the document was signed by Lieutenant General Arben Kingji, chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, and Major General Jasper Jeffers, commander of the ISF.

Also attending the ceremony were Ermal Nufi, Albania’s minister of defense, and Eric Wendt, the U.S. ambassador to Tirana.

In its response to today’s agreement between Albania and the International Stabilization Force, the Board of Peace said it provides for further support for security operations and the Gaza mission’s operational planning capabilities.

According to the Board’s statement, Albania joins Kosovo and Morocco in contributing. The Board describes these contributions as important for advancing governance and security, supporting humanitarian efforts, strengthening the rule of law and rebuilding Gaza.
